OFFICE PROCEDURES

Consultation:

Prior to booking any surgery, a consultation with Dr. Smith is required.  We typically book a considerable amount of time for these appointments and, therefore, do require a patient to confirm their appointment with us a few days prior in order to hold their time.

During their thorough consultation with Dr. Smith, a patient will receive operative procedure information, including pre and post operative expectations, risks and benefits, as well as a written estimate for cost. 

Surgery:

Should a patient decide to proceed with surgery, a surgical date can usually be found within 4-8 weeks.

For most procedures, a pre-operative appointment with their GP will be required.  Pre-operative instructions and information will be mailed to the patient, along with an invoice for their procedure.

 PAYMENT

Payment for cosmetic surgery is due, in full, four weeks prior to surgery.  There are several options for payment available, including VISA, MasterCard and Interac, cash, certified cheque or money order. 

Payment options for non-surgical procedures such as Botox or Injectables are VISA, M/C, cash, Interac.

Financing for cosmetic surgery is available through a number of reputable companies.

Many of these companies provide online pre-approval for patients considering surgery.  In that way, a patient can know prior to seeing Dr. Smith in consultation whether they would qualify for financing.

Postoperative period:

Patients can expect a phone call the day following their surgery to ensure they are coping well.   At this time, a patient's first post-operative appointment will be arranged with one of our nurses.     In most cases, a patient will be seen at least twice during this early stage.

A patient is then asked to book their follow-up assessment with Dr. Smith.   For most procedures, this takes place at approximately 3-6 months post-op.
